We can determine if plants are actually growing by touching them. During the day, sunlight makes plants transpire. This makes leaves cooler than the air.
You can feel it right away when you grab a leaf. If the leaves aren’t cooler than the air when you touch them, the plants aren’t transpiring. This means no photosynthesis either. They’ve stopped producing energy for growth.
To use this indicator to tune your irrigation, follow these steps:
⚡️ Let’s assume you’ve stabilized your tunnel temperature as discussed in Step 2. Sudden changes in temperature make the diagnosis more complex.
If you’ve done everything right and the soil is still too dry, you may have equipment failure.
