Step 4 - Tip #4

Get a sensor

You cannot manage humidity based on gut feelings. You have to know the current and the past humidity level. Especially regarding nighttime humidity.

To do that, you need a sensor. More importantly, you need a graph of past humidity levels.

It will enable you to:

  • Make better diagnostics
  • Give you a clear path on how to dehumidify
  • Better understand the relationship between temperature and humidity changes

You can choose a cheap sensor like this. However, the ideal is a controller that takes action based on humidity level.

⚠️ The lower the graph line, the higher the humidity.

The graph shows that humidity was an issue in the morning. You can see the pink section appears after four hours in the danger zone. During that time, spores of powdery mildew and gray mold could have germinated and started affecting the plants.

With this tool, you can understand why you have disease problems.
