When the wind hits plants, it dries off a thin layer of humidity called “boundary layer”. This is how plants regulate their temperature, much like sweating for humans.
When this happens, the plant is not able to transpire properly, thus stopping growth.
By opening the side protected from the wind first, we benefit from the chimney effect, which sucks out air from the tunnel.
If the temperature is still too high after you’ve completely opened this side, start opening the other side a little at a time. (figure 2)
