Close Roll-ups When it’s 63F at Night

63°F is too cold for tomatoes, below this threshold, you create issues:

  1. Reduced growth due to excessive energy storage
  2. Slower fruit ripening
  3. Increased susceptibility to fungal diseases such as Botrytis.

If your roll-ups are not automated, don’t be tricked into thinking that summer nights are hot enough.

Look at the weather forecast. If the minimum is 63°F or lower, close your roll-ups at sunset.
