Before We Start

To make the following tips easily actionable, we've translated volumes of water into minutes of irrigation.

But the amount of water given in a minute depends on the irrigation system. To make sure that when we talk about 1 minute of water, we mean the same volume, we need to standardize water flow.

We use the most common setup in tunnel growing, and we encourage you to use it as well. It has proven useful to many.

Drip tapes

• 4 drip tapes per bed
• Holes every 8"
  

Pressure

• 12 psi regulator

If you are unsure how to set up this equipment, reach out to Dubois’ customer service. They are very good, and they can design your system and ship everything you need.

If you don't want to change your system, you can still use this step's content. You need to know how much water you give per minute and adjust irrigation duration to fit your set-up.

⚠️ CAUTION - All the numbers here assume you have the density recommended in Step 1. Otherwise, you need to adapt irrigation duration proportionally.
